Hands-On Care Built Around Your Dog

No two dogs arrive with the same body, history or tolerance. Every session is adapted to your dog’s age, breed, health history, movement patterns, tissue response, nervous-system state and comfort that day.

Rather than following a standard massage routine, I observe, palpate and select the techniques most appropriate for the dog in front of me. One session may be quiet and deeply settling, while another may include more focused work through areas of muscular or fascial compensation.

Massage + Bodywork is a complete hands-on service. It is ideal for dogs who benefit from individualized bodywork without a structured strengthening or active exercise component.

Is Massage + Bodywork Right for Your Dog?

Massage + Bodywork may be a good fit if your dog:

  • seems stiff after rest, walks or physical activity

  • is living with diagnosed arthritis or age-related mobility changes

  • carries muscular or fascial tension from compensation

  • is active and would benefit from recovery support

  • is participating in or has completed veterinary rehabilitation

  • has several areas that benefit from hands-on care

  • is senior, sensitive or better suited to a quieter session

  • enjoys massage but does not currently need guided strengthening exercises

The goal is not to force change or work aggressively through sensitive tissues. It is to support comfort, mobility, tissue quality, relaxation and more efficient everyday movement at a pace your dog can tolerate.

What a Massage + Bodywork Session May Include

Your dog will not receive every available technique simply because it appears on the menu.

Techniques are selected according to what is appropriate, comfortable and useful during that particular session.

What Happens at Your First Visit?

Your dog’s 75-minute First Visit combines a functional baseline with individualized massage and bodywork.

1. History and Goals

We discuss your dog’s health history, veterinary information, medications, current concerns, daily activities and the changes you have noticed at home.

2. Movement Observation

When appropriate, I observe your dog standing, walking and completing comfortable everyday movements such as sitting, turning or transitioning from the floor.

3. Hands-On Assessment and Bodywork

I use gentle palpation and observation to compare tissue quality, comfort, temperature, fascial mobility and your dog’s response to touch. The remaining session is adapted around what your dog comfortably accepts.

4. Personalized Next Steps

After the session, I explain what I observed without presenting it as a veterinary diagnosis. We discuss whether occasional hands-on care, a short series of visits, veterinary follow-up or MOVE + MASSAGE would be the most appropriate next step.

Soul Paws massage and guided exercise complements veterinary and rehabilitation care. It does not diagnose medical conditions or replace veterinary assessment or treatment.
